Just like your natural locs, these need care, love, and consistency. Here’s how to keep them looking fresh, soft, and long-lasting:

1. Wash gently, not often.

Wash your loc extensions every 2–4 weeks (or as needed). Use a residue-free shampoo and focus on the scalp if they’re installed. Avoid harsh scrubbing — a gentle squeeze and rinse is enough.

2. Keep them moisturised.

Mist with a light hydration spray (like our Aloe + Rosewater Mist 👀) 2–3 times a week, or more if your locs feel dry. Follow with a lightweight oil to seal in moisture.

3. Avoid heavy products + buildup.

Stay away from waxes, gels, or thick butters — they can clog the strands and attract lint or dust.

4. Dyeing? Bleaching? Go slow.

Since these are 100% human hair, you can bleach or dye them — but always strand test first, use quality products, and deep condition afterwards.

5. Protect at night.

Wrap with a satin or silk scarf, or use a bonnet or pillowcase to reduce friction, breakage, and lint.

6. Trim frizz & flyaways.

It’s normal for a few hairs to fray over time. Use scissors to neaten up the surface if needed — or palm roll them to keep a sleek look.

7. Book regular maintenance.

For the first 4 months after install, consistent monthly maintenance is crucial to help your locs settle, strengthen, and stay healthy long-term. This keeps tension balanced, roots clean, and ensures the integrity of your extensions as they mature.
